July 4th Streaming

Sponsored by Open Door Networks – the Ashland Mac ISP, Project A’s BISP, Ashland’s Business only ISP, Ashland Unwired,  The HotSpot Service in Ashland, AFN, The Ashland Fiber Network, and Apple Computer, the inventor and manufacturer of tools to make dreams reality.

Success!

The weather was perfect, the Parade was wonderful and the technology gods were smiling.

8 Live Streams broadcasting the event live from different vantage points up and down the parade route.

Emails from around the world poured in thanking us and congratulating us on the "Tour de Fourth" as everything went off perfectly.

People used the camera in the park and a cell phone to call family and friends in other parts of the country and told them what URL to go to watch the parade and of course see their friends and family enjoying the event.

It would not have happened if not for the following people.

The City of Ashland

Employees and Council Members all supported us

Ashland Fiber Network technical crew under the leadership of Richard Holbo

This would have been impossible with out their support weeks leading up to the event.

The community

We really appreciated all the people who visited the booth and thanked and congratulated us for all the work we did and do for AFN and the community.

Thanks to Apple Computer for being a sponsor by loaning us a xServe Server and providing inspiration by creating all of the hardware and software we used to make this happen.

How much bandwidth did we use?

Come back soon and often to see answers and images and rebroadcasts as they become available.
